Man Stabs Stranger Inside Fairfax County Business Unprovoked, Police Say

A 27-year-old Alexandria man is in custody after allegedly stabbing a stranger in an unprovoked attack inside a Bailey’s Crossroads business, Fairfax County Police said.

The incident happened at approximately 2:18 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 in the 5600 block of Leesburg Pike, where responding officers found the victim, an adult, suffering from stab wounds to his upper body.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect, Richard Fuentes Cordova, remained at the scene and was arrested without incident, police said.

According to investigators, Cordova approached the victim inside the business and stabbed him without warning or provocation for unknown reasons.

Cordova has been charged with malicious wounding and is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

The incident remains under investigation.
